International Dance Affair was founded in 1989 by Mrs Christine Shield when classes were offered in Ballet and Highland Dancing. Over the next couple of years Tap, Jazz and Irish Dancing were added to the curriculum. The studio is now owned and directed by Mrs Sandra Danastas and also offers Hip Hop, Contemporary and Baton Twirling classes.
Throughout the years, dancers at International Dance Affair have enjoyed numerous successes. These accomplishments include; countless Premiership and Title Winners, State and National Championship Placegetters, World Championship Qualifiers, Bursary Winners, many Honours & Honours with Distinction students in all examination areas, dancers who have attained Teaching Qualifications, dancers selected with OzScot (The Australian Highland Dancing Team) to perform in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and other performances throughout Australia, Europe, the United States and Canada.
International Dance Affair is a fully air-conditioned studio that endeavours to provide a safe, positive, friendly and educational environment for all students.
It is the mission of the studio to provide each and every student with the skills to enhance self-confidence and self-discipline, develop co-ordination abilities and to perform confidently in front of audiences, while constantly developing their technique and love of dance.
We encourage students to achieve and perform to their greatest potential. We provide many opportunities for students to perform before audiences which will build their personal confidence and self esteem.
